John is the Managing Partner and Head of the Banking and Finance team at AMOSS. John is also on the Board of Directors and Chair of the EMEA region of Interlaw, a niche global network of independent law firms located in 150 cities with 8,000+ expert lawyers.
John has extensive experience of advising on all aspects of lending transactions. John’s experience includes advising on secured / unsecured lending, debt restructuring, work-out and pre-enforcement strategies for lenders.
John understands the current market challenges, is commercially focused and adept at providing practical solutions to lenders as and when these challenges arise. John’s main focus now is on real estate lending, acquisition finance and development / construction finance acting for Ireland’s alternative lenders.

Experience
- Advises various lenders in connection with site acquisition and development finance transactions relating to commercial real estate and residential developments.
- Advises various lenders in connection with the provision of finance to fund the acquisition, and refinancing, of retail parks, shopping centres, hotels and other investment assets.
- Acts for the firm’s borrowers availing of finance from Ireland’s alternative lenders in commercial real estate and development finance matters.
- Acts for the firm’s banking clients in contested proceedings in the Commercial Division of the High Court.
- Advised several of the firm’s borrower clients in their exits from NAMA and subsequent refinancing of assets and projects into pillar banks.
